Websites · designed and built to order
Websites, built by hand.
A marketing site written for your business and coded line by line — not a template with your name dropped into it.
If you got here from a footer, you have already seen one. That site was designed and built here, and yours would be too — your words, your pictures, your pages.
01 What we build
Hand-built, not dragged together.
No page builder, no drag-and-drop theme, no plugin stack holding the thing up. The pages are written as code, so they stay fast and they do exactly what they are supposed to do.
- Written for your business
- Your services, your pictures, your pages, in your own words. We start from what you actually do and build the pages around it — not from a layout that needs your business trimmed to fit.
- Fast, because there is nothing to load
- Hand-written pages, images sized to the screen that asks for them, and no framework shipped to a phone that did not need one. The phone is the one that has to feel quick, so the phone is what it is built on first.
- It works on every screen
- Phone, tablet, laptop, a wide monitor in an office. Same site, laid out for each one. Tested on real browser engines at phone and desktop sizes before it goes anywhere.
- Readable by people and machines
- Real headings, real link text, alt text on the pictures, and the title, description and structured markup a search engine or an answer engine reads when it opens the page. Contrast and keyboard use are checked, not assumed.
- Yours to keep
- The domain is registered in your name and it stays that way whether or not you keep working with us. Same for the email on it. You can walk away with both.
02 How it works
Four steps, no meetings you did not ask for.
-
01
You say what you do
A DM. What the business is, what you want the site to do, and anything you already have — a logo, photos, an old site, a Facebook page. No form to fill in and no call to book.
-
02
You get scope and a price back
Written down before anything starts: the pages, what is in them, what you send us, and what it costs. Nothing begins until you have read that and agreed to it.
-
03
It gets built, on a real link
You watch it go up at a URL you can open on your own phone, and say what is wrong while it is cheap to change. The wording and the pictures get settled here, not after launch.
-
04
It goes live on your domain
Pointed at your domain, with the email on it, and handed over. You own the domain, the site and the words on it.
03 Price
Quoted per project.
There is no website rate card, because no two of these are the same size. A five-page site for one person and a site with rooms, services and a mailbox behind it are different jobs, and one number would be wrong for both.
So: say what you need, and you get the scope and the price in writing before anything starts. If it is more than you want to spend, that is the moment to find out — not after.
04 Questions
Before you ask.
- How long does it take?
A date is agreed in the brief before anything starts, and that date is the one we work to.
What moves it is almost never the build. It is how fast we get things back from you: the photos, your services in your own words, and access to your domain name. Send those early and it is a short project.
- Do I need a domain already?
No. If you have one we use it, and you keep owning it.
If you do not, we help you pick one and register it in your name, not ours. Same for the email on it. You can walk away with both.
- Can I change it myself afterwards?
The parts that are meant to change, yes.
Where a site needs announcements, enquiries or a mailing list, those go behind an admin that is yours to use without asking us. Structural work — a new service, a new page, a new set of photos — comes back to us.
- Will it be found on Google?
It is built so it can be. Nobody who tells you more than that is being straight with you.
The page carries its title, its description, its headings and the structured markup search engines and answer engines read, the site is in a sitemap, and nothing blocks it from being crawled. What we will not do is promise a position, because that is not ours to promise.
- What if I already have a site?
Then we start from what is wrong with it, not from a blank page.
Sometimes that is a rebuild and sometimes it is smaller than you think. Send the link in the DM and you will get a straight answer about which one it is, including the answer that says leave it alone.
Tell us what you do. Get a website.
Start a websiteNo call, no form to chase. It opens a DM to @_1walk, and a person answers it. If you would rather see the rest of what the studio does first, that is the services page.
